New clock-in options with Altamira ClockPoint

Altamira ClockPoint

Altamira ClockPoint, our new app for Android and iOS devices, is now available on Google Play and the App Store.

The free app turns smartphones and tablets into workplace time clocks. It works with Altamira HRMobile and Altamira Attendance, allowing employees to clock in and out using a QR code or Bluetooth, without the need for dedicated hardware terminals.

Setup

With Altamira ClockPoint, any company smartphone or tablet can become a shared time clock for the entire office.

Setup only needs to be completed once and takes just a few minutes. An administrator can handle the process directly from the Altamira HRMobile app, following our guide. Once configured, the device is ready for employees to use when clocking in and out.

Organizations can set up multiple terminals and assign a name to each one. This makes it easy to distinguish clock-in stations by location, department, or entrance, while each clock-in or clock-out is linked to the device where it was recorded.

Clock-in methods

Employees can clock in and out in two ways:

  • QR code: the code refreshes automatically every minute. Because the code displayed on screen is only valid for a short time, it cannot be photographed and reused elsewhere.
  • Bluetooth: this option works by proximity. Employees can only clock in or out when they are near the terminal.

Both methods are designed for organizations that want attendance records to be tied to a specific physical location, helping reduce the risk of remote or unauthorized clock-ins.

Employees use the standard clock-in and clock-out buttons in Altamira HRMobile. After tapping the button, they can choose from the available clock-in methods: standard, Bluetooth, or QR code. If they select QR code, the camera opens so they can scan the code.

Clock-ins and clock-outs are recorded even without an internet connection. An unstable network or poor signal does not prevent attendance tracking: records are saved and synchronized as soon as the connection is restored.

An alternative to hardware time clocks

Altamira ClockPoint is designed for organizations that want a reliable time tracking system linked to a physical location, without the cost or installation work required by traditional hardware terminals. All they need is a tablet or smartphone already available at the company.

The app is available free of charge on Google Play and the App Store.
